The official opening is on Saturday, November 1, in the Statenzaal of the Province of North Holland, Dreef 3 in Haarlem. Interested parties are warmly invited to attend.

Connection

The exhibition DIS | CONNECTION showcases the work of 5 artists with the theme of connection between worlds, materials, people, generations, and origins. Both visible and invisible, internal and external, energetic and philosophical. Connection is always the starting point. With the exhibition, curator Michèle Baudet aims to convey a positive and powerful message. Baudet: “The works are about the limitless interconnectedness between everything and everyone. Without turning away from the shadow side, I want to emphasize what gives hope and connects us.”

The 5 artists

Sonja Cabalt explores the beauty and vulnerability of nature with her work. Her organic sculptures and installations refer to the unknown life around us.

Tara-Eva Kuijpers Wentink creates abstract, amorphous forms that refer to the inner, bodily structures of both the human body and the plant world.

Ada Leenheer examines human functioning and unravels and reports her insights through her drawings, collages, and installations.

Claus-Pierre Leinenbach investigates the tension between opposites in his work: the hard and the soft, the resistant and the vulnerable. He works with iron and nylon, each with its own properties, but which interact in combination.

Michèle Baudet shapes human relationships, emotions, and origins using simple materials such as iron wire and lead, and through the use of light.

On the occasion of the exhibition, a booklet will be published containing 5 short portraits of the artists and a story by philosopher, writer, and musician, Gustan Asselbergs. Visitors will receive a free copy.
